North Las Vegas eye test
Don’t relax on your preventive care efforts, even if you aren’t currently suffering from symptoms. Doing so runs the risk of your eyes and vision eventually developing something without your knowledge. So get help. If that sounds good to you, that’s great. Now all you have to do is reach out to Joseph Eng and so you can finally get treated to a North Las Vegas eye test. You’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
Don’t let pride get in the way of you getting proper care. Tuck it away for now. Wondering what this evaluation involves? Let’s cover some of the basics. The doctor will kick this process off by asking you about your medical history and vision problems (if any). Once the Q&A session concludes, it’s time to measure your visual acuity—which determines overall vision quality. If it’s bad, eyewear will be recommended. After that, the next step involves the evaluation of both the front and the inside of the eyes—using flashing lights to get the job done. Upon concluding all of those tests, the professional will promptly address any concerns or issues. Some other little tests include: eye muscle, refraction assessment color vision testing, slit-lamp examination, retinal examination, and screening for glaucoma. That’s pretty much all there is to it. Now all you have to do is go ahead and visit Joseph Eng. Our first-rate Sanford Eye doctor eagerly awaits to give you a North Las Vegas eye test.

Here at the office of Joseph Eng, OD, we are dedicated to promoting your optimal eye health. To do that, we need your help. Come in for our North Las Vegas eye care and get a cataract evaluation as part of a yearly comprehensive eye exam.
Cataracts are just one of the common eye diseases that we address here. They are often considered to be associated with aging, and indeed more than half the cases are in those 65 and older. But the risk is still there at any age, and because the formation and progression of cataracts begins without any obvious symptoms, by taking advantage of our yearly cataract evaluation, you put the odds in your favor for the most effective results in counteracting the effects the disease has on your vision. Unlike other conditions, cataracts do not threaten your eye physically. However, blurry or cloudy vision, as if there is a film over your eyes, are typical of the signs that you’re likely to have. You might also experience problems when driving at night, especially due to the glare of oncoming headlights. Changes in your perception of colors is also possible. Evaluation for the disease includes a complete checkup, along with a special test called a slit lamp exam, which is designed specifically to detect cataracts. If you are diagnosed with them, our North Las Vegas eye care prescribes eyeglasses or contact lenses that will improve your vision. Over time, you may need an update to your prescription in order to stay even with the cataracts increasing in quantity and size. If you reach a point where corrective eyewear is no longer good enough to provide the needed results, you will be recommended for cataracts surgery.
Please reach out to our office and book an appointment to come in for a comprehensive eye exam and cataract evaluation.

Waste no time in getting that taken care of. Stop squinting, stop straining. Besides, we have an impressive selection. That’s no empty boast, either. Maybe you’ve tried contacts. Heck, it’s possible you still own a pair to bring with you… for those special occasions when you want to keep your face bare. But they’re only for select moments, not day-to-day life—especially, since they’re such a hassle. For that, you’ll want a reliable option. Something simple, easy to wear. Contacts involve so much putting them on, to taking them off, to maintaining them…a series of tasks topping off an already burdened schedule. Forgetting to take them off or properly clean them means there’s the high risk of damage to the eye and vision. Why put yourself through that? When you try out eyeglasses, you’re getting a life-enhancing tool that you can wear on your face. Some even consider it a new face. Which is why it’s important to have many choices available to you when picking frames. We at Joseph Eng take much pride in providing such variety, so our customers can enjoy a selection tailor-made to their personality and taste. Swing by our North Las Vegas eye shop soon.

If you are going to be purchasing a new pair of glasses, visit us at our optical practice, Joseph Eng, OD. At our North Las Vegas eye shop, you can receive an eye exam from one of our expert optometrists, Dr. Joseph Eng or Dr. Esther Tan, as well as purchase designer eyeglasses with multifocal lenses.
Many customers who come to our North Las Vegas eye shop purchase eyeglasses that have multifocal eyeglass lenses. These types of eyeglasses are extremely convenient because it means you can have only one pair of eyeglasses to meet your vision correction needs. For example, if you need to have reading glasses in order to read from a book or do close-up work, but also need distance lenses, you will not need to change your eyeglasses to see at different distances. While multifocal eyeglass lenses may be a bit more expensive, they can end up saving you money because you will only need to have one pair of eyeglasses. When you need more than one distance prescription in your eyeglasses, you can get bifocals, trifocals, or progressive lenses. Bifocal lenses are less expensive than progressive lenses. They have two different prescriptions in them; commonly one is used for reading and the other is used for distance. While these lenses are extremely convenient, they can be unattractive as there is a clear line of delineation between where the reading glasses stop and the distance lenses begin. Additionally, some customers do not like the fact that it is obvious that they need to have reading glasses because they feel it gives away their age. Progressive lenses are a great solution because they are extremely attractive. Progressive lenses can have several different prescriptions in them, but you will never see any line of delineation in progressive lenses. This means that no one will know you are also wearing reading glasses. Additionally, progressive lenses offer a wider field of vision then regular bifocals since there are no lines in the lens.
